Selling one domain is complex, and that too through outbound and selling another domain to the same buyer is even harder IMO, but if done correctly, you can upsell your domain to the same buyer.
Let me share how I sold two domains to the same buyer last year.
Attorney, Lawyers, Law + practice areas are very popular keywords, and the search volume and CPC of these keywords are also very high.
If you have a good keyword combo of two-three words, you may sell them quickly.
I did the same thing, and I sold them not one but two domains to the same buyer for $300 each last year. I will not be able to share the name of the first domain, but the second domain I sold was creditdefenseattorney.com.
The first domain I sold was a three-word (city) + attorney keyword domain. I hand registered this domain after doing some research on Google keyword planner.
I first made a super targeted list of 50-70 potential buyers of that domain and ran the drip comp on snov.io.
I want to share one interesting thing: You may be able to find the direct email of the decision-maker on these law firms’ websites by clicking on the about us/our team section.
I got a “how much” reply on the very first email I sent. I went back and forth with the buyer, and they agreed to buy the domain for $300. I hand registered that name by paying only $12.
And then, a few weeks later, the buyer who bought my domain, I went to their website and did some research on what other practice areas they specialize in, and one practice area that I found a little interesting was “credit defense.”
I went ahead with my gut feeling, and since I had already made a deal with that buyer and build a rapport, I was a little confident that maybe I can sell this domain to them.
I registered creditdefenseattorney.com for $12 on Godaddy and approached the same law firm again- I have this name available let me know if this suits you?
And their reply came that they will buy it for the same price, $300, and thus I sold my other domain to that firm.
Upselling is a good option; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but it is worth giving a try, especially if you build a good rapport with them.
You don’t need to put much effort while upselling; just let them know that this name is available for purchase, and IMO it is better to wait for a couple of weeks or one-two months before you approach them again.
The domain you sold them earlier, if it’s already developed, just say hello and tell them it’s looking good and congratulate them, this will make your life a little easier when you approach them again.
If you are running out of ideas in finding good law domains, try this:
Visit any law firm website, and find their practice areas and check which areas they specialize in. You can divide the practice areas and use GEO+ practice area + lawyer/attorney or practice area + attorney/lawyer and search if a domain name is available or not.
That’s it for now. I hope this makes sense.
Namaste 🙏
