Launching Outbound Sales Data

We are happy and excited to launch a new tool, we call it “Outbound Sales Data.”

When we list our domains on different marketplaces, we use comparable sales data from various sites to figure out our domain’s asking price, which is an excellent strategy considering the data is relevant.

But, with outbound, you need different data points to figure out your asking price, especially on low-quality domains. Comparing your domain with inbound sales data is ok but not 100% correct because inbound and outbound are totally different strategies.

I think it is very tough to find dedicated outbound domain sales data, and what I’ve learned in my last 11 months of doing outbound, there are websites from where you can pull out the comparable sales data, but it is hard to know if the domain was sold by outbound.

I believe you are always a few steps behind while doing outbound, especially on low-quality names. I’m not trying to say you can’t fetch up a high price; you can, but it all depends on the domain’s quality.

Most of the domainers who do outbound, especially those who are new to domaining, start with low-quality names. One of the main reasons they struggle to sell domain via outbound is asking outrageous price. 

Because they compare the sales data with those domains that were most likely sold through an inbound offer. They end up asking an irrelevant price, which leads to no sale. 

As I mentioned earlier, outbound is a different strategy. It requires additional data points to figure out the sweet spot, especially on low-quality names.

So the whole point of launching this new tool is to have dedicated outbound sales data which will help domainers to see :

  • What selling
  • Which industries/niches are trending
  • Where the domain was sold and for how much it got sold
  • How long was the hold period
  • Domain was sold by which marketing mode, like – email or phone, etc.

All these key data points will help everyone get better understanding of outbound.
