How to find potential buyers for your domain

There are multiple ways you can reach out to potential buyers and sell your domains, like:

  • Cold Email
  • Linkedin
  • Social Media – Twitter/Instagram/Facebook
  • Cold calls
  • Text

Sharing three must-have tools to find potential buyers for your domain.

Dotdb.com

By using Dotdb, you can check how many extensions the domain is taken in and how many businesses are already using a “similar name” in their URL. The more results you get, the better it is.

Dotdb can help you find “similar” or inferior domains related to your name.

You can use the paid version of Dotdb.com to filter only those active websites (which saves a lot of time).

Linkedin

IMO you don’t need to pay for premium service if you are not reaching out to big corporates; if your niche is GEO and your targeted prospects are small-mid businesses, the free version of LinkedIn will do fine.

Type your domain name into the Linkedin search bar and look for companies with a “similar” domain to yours. For exact match search, use “domain name.”

Google

Google is free, and it cost you nothing. You can use Google in multiple ways depending on the domain name.

If you have a GEO domain and are looking to target companies that are spending money in marketing by running paid ads, enter your domain name into Google search and look for companies running paid ads on that particular keyword and add them to your list.

City name or Postal code at the end of your search query allows you to do searches for a specific location. Domain example “Boston plumber.”

For example: “boston plumber in Boston” or “boston plumber 02101” shows you plumbers in Boston.

Now, once you build your prospects list, it’s time to find emails and reach out to them, and you can do all of this by using Snov.io

Snov.io

You can use many tools to extract emails; one of my favorites is snov.io, and it has multiple features; by using snov,io you can track open rates, find emails and even use the email drip campaign.
